BZZRKRK
2026
Multimedia installation
Lokal-Int, Biel/Bienne
The installation BZZRKRK continues Eliot Bessot’s artistic research on the transition between the virtual digital state and the physical analog state. He is particularly interested in the transformation of immaterial artificial intelligence software developing exponentially into autonomous humanoid robots.
This research takes shape through eight anthropomorphic sculptures made from expanding foam and green chroma key suits from the film industry, designed to disappear in postproduction through green screen technology. Here, these figures meant to be invisible occupy the space. The foam invades the suits and determines their forms without direct control from the artist. The volumes emerge by chance, organically, guided solely by the process of expansion and drying of the material within the costumes. This process questions and thematizes the decision making mechanisms of artificial intelligence algorithms, unpredictable black boxes that remain indecipherable and uncontrollable to humans.
The ensemble of sculptures is accompanied by a sixteen minute looping audio piece exploring fragments of non linear narratives. This sonic creative process, resembling a collage, combines different sound generation techniques to create an auditory assemblage.
The installation interrogates these computational systems without providing clear answers and crystallizes the contemporary shift from digital "immateriality" to embodied systems.
